Big changes are happening in India’s mobile phone world this August 2024. BSNL adds 25 lakh new users to it’s database. This has spark a new wave in the country. At the same time, private companies are losing users because of higher prices. This shows how people choose cheaper options when prices go up.

Big Mobile Companies Lose Users

Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea have lost many users because they raised their prices. Together, these private companies lost 83 lakh users in August 2024. Jio lost the most users, followed by Airtel and then Vodafone Idea.

Why People Choose BSNL

BSNL keeps their mobile plan prices the same, while other companies make prices higher. People do not want to pay more money for their mobile phones. Mr Robert Ravi, who leads BSNL, says they will not raise prices anytime soon. As the prices of telecom services go up across private players, stable tariff of BSNL and soon-to-offer 4G services of BSNL may continue to get in new subscribers. While its leaders, such as Sunil Mittal of Airtel, are bat-tling for further increases in rates to keep the digital infrastructure of the country.

New Services Coming Soon

BSNL is doing all it can to ensure people get better mobile internet service as can be seen from the new 4G service. Currently, they are experimenting with these services throughout the country. This means that the launch of the new 4G service will enable people to access the internet on their mobile more quickly.

What This Strategic Shift Means

Some people may shift to BSNL because they think they can cut down on calls. They also think that they can cut the amount of money that is spent on the purchase of mobile phones. The current strategies of BSNL to remain cheap and add better services are good and are effectively being implemented. This is the sole reason why BSL adds 25 lakh new subscribers and why they are adding more day by day. Different from other companies, BSNL stated they need relatively little money to improve their services. BSNL demonstrates that affordability could be a powerful way of enlarging the consumer base and therefore appealing to more clients.
